That grumpy bugger - Doc Martin - is back for a fifth series in 2011. The story picks up after the birth of Martin and Louisa's son. Will Martin return to his post as Portwenn's GP? Will fatherhood help the Doc to mellow? Will he and Louisa play happy families? Of course not! The road to happiness will no doubt be fraught with an array of delightfully entertaining challenges.
The Doc Martin Series 5 Blog follows the progress of Series 5 from filming to post-episode dissection, and everything in between. It will endeavour to keep you up-to-date with all that's happening in and around Portwenn.
Your contributions to the site are welcomed, encouraged and essential. If you have information, tips, photos, a story to tell or a question to ask, don't hesitate to shoot me off an email, or post a comment. The Doc is in!
So excited to learn that another season (oops, "series") is soon to be filmed! Got a crazy addiction to the show!!! Love it - initially drawn in by the scenery, fell in love with the quirky characters. Planning to visit Port Isaac on the next trip to Britain! AmericanFan
My husband and I are great fans of Doc Martin, so much so we gave family members Series 1-4 as Christmas presents! We are waiting on pins and needles for the return of many series to come. Fans in Woodbridge, VA!
This is SUCH a great show! So clever. We do miss Pauline but I am so glad that there will be a season 6. Right now we are parceling out our season 5 as slowly as we can stand. Fans in Ocean Springs, Mississippi
It's just like Brigadoon. The Doc comes to life every 2 years when Martin Clunes gives up his persona and becomes the Doc. Martin Clunes thinks that people will be tired of Doc Martin, but we will never tire of him. It is not a soap opera but a chronicle of a transformation brought about by love and a child. I love Doc Martin...Eh for Martin Clunes.
Great series, great actors. Reminds me of watching Dad's Army and Are You Being Served? in the seventies. Love Cornwall too. Greetings from The Netherlands.
Doc is the most compassionate and sweetly crafted, innocent, majestic, work of art, humane, polite character and the series is warm and loving. I'd like to see more of his super cool parents.
I love this show. Discovered it thru friends on Netflix and did a marathon of all 5 series. I have ordered the DVD's. Great writing. And great casting. Doc Martin makes me laugh and cry. I look forward to series 6. Central California.
Another crazy-enthusiastic appreciater here. Traveling to Port Isaac from Northern California in May hoping to catch a glimpse of Season 6 filming. Can't wait to hang out in this lovely village for a few days. Doc Martin has provided great humor, entertainment, and joy for sharing with family and friends. Thank you for this work!

ReplyDeleteI think Martin is so sexy. When is he going to
do a shirtless scene and a shower scene? Doc take it off and be kind to Louisa and James.
