Loved every episode. Thanks so much. Well done everyone. Looking forward to the next series.ReplyDelete
Thank you...and thanks for this wonderful blog. Will it stay posted now that the series is over?ReplyDelete
Happy in L.A.
Yes thanks from the USReplyDelete
Wonderful! We want more series to come!ReplyDelete
Yes, they most definitely need to create another series--maybe starting with Louisa and Martin getting married or Louisa giving birth to twins!!ReplyDelete
good idea. Maybe Louisa could settle down and be a wife.Delete
If we'd all tell Itv we'd love to see more series, it might, just might, have an impact.ReplyDelete

It was a fabulous season. Lots of great story lines to continue. Looking forward to Season 6! Thrilled in LA!ReplyDelete
That magnificent, beautiful ending to S5E8 seems to me, to signal the end of Doc Martin the TV show. In using a helicopter to get that sweeping panorama of the Cornish coast, the producers created an analogue of the very beginning of the show, the opening of S1E1...except that at the beginning we were transported from far up in the air and into the lives of the characters, beginning with Dr. Martin Ellingham and Louisa Glasson...whereas in the ending of S5E8, we start out living with them the epiphany that finally brings together these same two characters, but then are taken far up and away...and out of their lives.ReplyDelete
It feels like a farewell, to me.
Here in Los Angeles, is the series over?ReplyDelete
That was a wonderful ending. Any guess as to whether or not the series is now ended for good?ReplyDelete
Here in Portland, OR... With that ending, it does seem like a farewell, but I sure do hope they make a Series 6 and ongoing. Such a beautiful shot of them walking together holding hands, and the coastline from above. There are so many more ongoing stories the writers could create for the Doc and Louisa.ReplyDelete
Does anyone know when the DVD for series 5 will be released in North America?ReplyDelete
OKAY JACK LOTHIAN - YOU DID IT AGAIN! AN EXTRAORDINARY EPISODE IN EVERY WAY. THANK YOU. (I HOPE YOU GET A RAISE FOR NEXT SERIES!)ReplyDelete

WE DISCOVERED THIS TOTALLY WONDERFUL SHOW AND MARTIN CLUNES, CAROLINE CATZ AND THE ENTIRE TALENTED CAST THIS YEAR-- THANK YOU FOR PROVIDING PERFORMANCES AND STORY LINES WHICH WENT STRAIGHT TO OUR HEARTS. WE LAUGHED, CRIED, SPENT MANY EVENINGS SPECULATING ON WHAT WAS TO COME AND LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT EPISODE. YOU'VE BLESSED US WITH THE BEST OF WHAT THIS MEDIUM HAS TO OFFER. WE LOOK FORWARD TO FUTURE SERIES, BUT IF NOT, OUR THANKS FOR THESE.ReplyDelete
Doc Martin Season 5 can be pre-orded now from UK Amazon. It will be released on March 5, 2012. This is a Region 2 DVD.ReplyDelete
I agree with the comment about Jack Lothian. HIs finale for Doc Martin was lovely.
Great! Thanks for making this available for us folks in USA. Looking forward to being able to purchase DVD in March 2011.ReplyDelete
Good ending. This ending sets up a series 6 where they marry, combining it with the christening so the doc doesn't have to put up with too much wining and dining of the locals.ReplyDelete
They must also now have lots of that honeymoon sex (we don't see, of course) and cuddling they both need desperately. Louisa will need to have another baby, so they can share pregnancy, unlike last time. Anyway, that's my vision, but I won't attempt to actually write a script, so no worries if you don't agree.
I love your ideas, they reflect my hopes as well.Delete
Were there articles in the tv journals in the UK after Episode 8? Any comments on the series from the critics there?ReplyDelete
Everyone I have told to turn in Doc Martin, loves it just as much as I do. Now, they have cut off just as Louise and her baby met their daddy. Hey, that's not fair. What can we do to bring them back? Any chance we can see the rest of the shows? Please help!!ReplyDelete
Please continue series. Intelligent, warm , funny and most of all heart warming.ReplyDelete
PLEASE...is there ANY chance of more episodes to come?..it seems the way the last one in Series 5 ended it was just asking for follow-up?ReplyDelete
