That grumpy bugger - Doc Martin - is back for a fifth series in 2011. The story picks up after the birth of Martin and Louisa's son. Will Martin return to his post as Portwenn's GP? Will fatherhood help the Doc to mellow? Will he and Louisa play happy families? Of course not! The road to happiness will no doubt be fraught with an array of delightfully entertaining challenges.

The Doc Martin Series 5 Blog follows the progress of Series 5 from filming to post-episode dissection, and everything in between. It will endeavour to keep you up-to-date with all that's happening in and around Portwenn.

Your contributions to the site are welcomed, encouraged and essential. If you have information, tips, photos, a story to tell or a question to ask, don't hesitate to shoot me off an email, or post a comment. The Doc is in!

MadMother's Port Isaac Diary...Part Three...

Tuesday 12th April

Visit somewhere with lots of plants in domes. No Doc Martin stars. No internet connection at cottage so start new chapter of fanfic (shameless plug).

Wednesday 13th April

Went Bodmin. Discovered Victorian jury in need of course in logic. Also many ways to get hanged in good old days.

Thursday 14th April

Discover owner of sweet shop has been asked to close at lunch time so his shope can be set up as Mrs T's pharmacy. Hang around hopefully but only see crew doing things to counters.

Friday 15th April

Get up early and rush round packing. Wait till MM is distracted and sneak out. See Caroline Catz by hotel. Either costume department have all gone blind or Louisa Glasson is meant to be having new baby morning - too tired to care what you're wearing as long as it's clean. Take a few pics but crew in the way. Go back to finish packing. Mini-MM2 not ready to go, so suggest to Mini-MM1 we go to the harbour to see CC. Mr MM looks at me as if I'm mad (tee hee). Rush to harbour. Crew in huddle so walk casually past and accost CC. CC very friendly and agrees to having photo taken with Mini MM1. Due out of cottage in five minutes so reluctantly leave. End of Port Isaac adventure.

  1. Love this show! Love Ms. Catz! So happy they're filming another season. My husband and I just finished watching season 4.

  2. This is a great series. I watch it over & over & enjoy it every time. D. Hickey, Garland, TX
