THE STORY CONTINUES...

That grumpy bugger - Doc Martin - is back for a fifth series in 2011. The story picks up after the birth of Martin and Louisa's son. Will Martin return to his post as Portwenn's GP? Will fatherhood help the Doc to mellow? Will he and Louisa play happy families? Of course not! The road to happiness will no doubt be fraught with an array of delightfully entertaining challenges.

The Doc Martin Series 5 Blog follows the progress of Series 5 from filming to post-episode dissection, and everything in between. It will endeavour to keep you up-to-date with all that's happening in and around Portwenn.

Your contributions to the site are welcomed, encouraged and essential. If you have information, tips, photos, a story to tell or a question to ask, don't hesitate to shoot me off an email, or post a comment. The Doc is in!

ITV Press Release - Series 6

The nation’s favourite grumpy medic, Doc Martin, with his tactless and brusque bedside manner and a phobia of blood, is returning to ITV1 next year.

Martin Clunes will reprise his role as Dr. Martin Ellingham in eight new episodes of the enormously successful drama produced by Buffalo Pictures and set in the idyllic, sleepy hamlet of Port Wenn in Cornwall.

Filming will begin next spring on location in picturesque Port Isaac with all regular members of the cast returning to the popular series.

    1. I miss Joan as well.
It would be great for her to finally see her quirky Nephew with Louisa and their son. But that would mean a resurrection...
the other aunt can share in their family with her own quirkiness.

Hope we don;t have to wait too long for the continuation on etv and or GPTV.

  7. Auntie Joan . . . loved her character!

she was a real mom figure to poor Martin . . . I so love this series, and the LOCATION!!!!

makes me want to visit Cornwall coast areas in the UK and stay for while . . . any good places recommended?

Thanks for letting me post this comment. :)

  8. Love all the characters. I saw one post that said they didn't like Louisa's ponytail. Please keep the long flowing hair. I just wish there was a scene that showed Doc being a little more loving with Louisa and sort of a jealous streak that keeps him thinking and wanting her more. He needs to be more attentive with her when she is around. Mrs. Tisshel is great!!!! As is Mr. Large! The setting is wonderful. My husband and I will visit Port Isaac someday. The whole setting with all the players make it just the perfect place for the Doc Martin series. Love it!!!!!
